Objectives
- To unite all Nigerian Nurses in the United State towards promoting the highest standards of professional practice, education, cultural advancement and socio-economic stability.
- To assist Nigerian Community in making healthy lifestyle changes necessary by providing information needed to make informed decisions.
- To promote health maintenance and well being among Nigerians living in U.S.A. and at home.
- To collaborate with other organizations in addressing current issues of health care in Nigeria, such as but not limited to HIV/AIDS, Communicable diseases, Mental Health, Genital mutilation, Women’s and Children’s Health, Gerontology, and Rural Health.
- To foster educational and professional growth among Nigerian nurses through networking and mentoring.
- To assist new Nigerian nurses adapt to the nursing profession in the United States.
To meet the above objectives, the following committees have been established.
- Community Outreach Committee: this committee focuses on health issues affecting Nigerians living in U.S.A. through community outreach programs on health issues, health education and health fair.
- Educational Committee focuses on the educational and professional growth of Nigerian Nurses by organizing educational conferences, seminars, lectures and providing scholarships for members to advance in their career.
- Nurses On Call Committee focuses on health issues affecting Nigerians living in Nigeria by sending members to Nigerian for healthy living and health maintenance campaign through media campaign and community health fair, visiting the universities to provide health education on safe sex practices and provide condoms to the students, To collaborate with our colleagues in Nigeria to assess and help improve nursing care.
